Description
We had a great time exploring the I & M Canal in October. (Thanks for the tip, Yvonne!) :) This was a duckweed-covered pond at one of the stops we made on our first day out.
Perhaps I got a little carried away with the postwork, but sometimes it's fun to see where the process takes me! I loved this storybook colored-line-drawing look.
The waterfall was lazy, the sycamores were delightful, and we had a nice walk along the canal in the afternoon sunshine. Ahhhhh ... nice memories!

Thanks for sharing your memories, Tara. And I love what you did with it, love the colors and the light on that green. It's so artistic!
This is at the Gebhard access. Funny, I have an almost identical shot of that tree, although there was not nearly as much duck weed at the time. : ) The Gebhard woods used to be home of the largest cotton wood tree in the midwest. It stood at 130' tall with a circumference of 32' at it's base and 105' branch spread. One had to walk a mile or so into the woods to see it, but it was well worth the shoe leather to see it. A summer storm took it down in 91. I do have some pictures of it taken around 85-86 and will dig them out and scan a few to post. Wish I could have wandered the day away with youse that day!
