Description
Because of Ishtar's pride, Ereshkigal's husband was dead. When her sister had the nerve to show up in the Underworld after Gugalana's death, Ishtar acted as if Ereshkigal should be happy to see her. Ishtar was the last person the Dark Queen wanted to see. She slew her sister and hung her skin/corpse on a nail for some number of days and nights. The people of Earth and even the gods made supplications to Ereshkigal to restore Ishtar. Finally, she agreed to this - but only if someone would agree to take her place in the Underworld. Not surprisingly, no one really wanted to. It did all work out in the end, but that's another story.
This story is from the myth of "Ishtar's Descent" from Sumero-Akkadian-Bablyonian mythology.

Fantastic !!
Superb! 5+! Thanks a lot.
Beautifull and excellent dark queen. You and Roxy should do a collaboration on her Ishtar series. Great lighting and nice lightning effect.
A different version of the tale than I have heard. I do want to do one of Erehskigal's legends if I ever get through the next Ishtar chapter. Ereshkigal sure did have her trouble with lovers - much like Elizabeth 1st. This does well show the fury of the Dark Queen and a great juxtaposition of black and orange flame. Great lightning effects.
brilliant image and effects
