Description
The Loo-Choo Islands (Ryukyu Kingdom), sometime in the mid-1800s. The men that Commodore Perry sent to "explore" the underground temple returned empty-handed. When asked to explain how ...ahem "savages" could have bested them they spoke of being attacked by dozens of heathens with sticks. Since all the shore party had the bruises and wounds to prove it, Perry had no trouble believing that his men had faced some pirate horde down there...
But perhaps there was another explanation...? ;-)
