Description
This backwards wave is the result of the surf pounding the seawall and then bouncing back! The wave going out then runs directly into the next wave coming in. Best viewed zoomed.
I can't tell you how I close I came to being pounded by the other end of this wave!!!!!!!
PS can you see the ghostly face in the spray? It's near the highest part of the exploding water on the left side!

I think the girl and the face are looking at each other. Who knows what she sees! I love watching waves reflecting this way, though I once almost got in trouble in my boat because of it, since you can't predict the wave action.

The wave is outstanding Andrew and a great POV. The girl is cute! The ghost is wild for sure and clear as a bell. Also noticed the parasail in the distance. Lots to see in this shot.
WOW! You really know how to make a splash! Yes, I see the face. I suspect this is a case for Mulder and Scully. I have experience with these types of shots as Lake Michigan does the same thing with our rock/concrete lakefront breakwaters. I've also learned from my aquatic photographic adventures that far enough away not to get swept over the edge is still not far enough away to avoid getting a very invigorating cold shower. Great shot!
