Very good scene, and this captures the essence well.
wonderful detail and light - it could be pieces of a photo. I liked the addition of background fuzzy cross and sharp cane. But from a composition point of view, I don't like how the cane meets/intersects the man's ear. Perhaps if the cane was rotated forward and the front was sharper with the back fading a little... I don't know... but tell you what, this is a strong wonderful image!!! Great character and life!
