TANTALE

TANTALUM
Tantalum was discovered by Anders Gustaf Ekeberg (SE) in 1802. The origin of the name comes from the Greek word Tantalos meaning father of Niobe in Greek mythology, (tantalum is closely related to niobium in the periodic table). It is a rare, grey, heavy, hard but ductile, metal with a high melting point that reacts with HF and fused alkalis. Metal ignites in air and exposed surfaces form corrosion resistant oxide film. Tantalum is always found with niobium but occurs chiefly in the mineral tantalite. It is often used as an economical substitute for platinum. Tantalum pentoxide is used in capacitors and in camera lenses to increase refracting power. It and its alloys are corrosion and wear resistant so it is used to make surgical and dental tools.

E'usato in leghe metalliche.

Very interesting! Nice creation!
Wonderful image and information!!
When my rocks in bryce are crooked I delete it lol but hey not now that I read and looked here : Impressive !~
You're a real teacher ..... Nothing is missing Congratulations again and many thanks for sharing ((5 + +)) Tu es un vrai professeur .....
Very intersting and impresive as well!!!
Another excellent image, Magik, lovely work!
Very impressive work. Wonderful colors and lighting. Interesting information, thanks for sharing Magik.
this is one of the things i like, scientific art.... I always learn something new from you with these pieces!
Beautiful render and interesting information. Wonderful colors, textures, and light. It looks like a cold place, with the sun giving just a small amount of warmth as it reflects off the water and rocks. Lovely reflections and great details in the water and the texture of the rocks. Very nice work!
Great work!
Very cool! Excellent work!
