Description
Belfast Lough is a large, natural intertidal sea lough at the mouth of the River Lagan on the east coast of Northern Ireland.
Helen's Bay village is in the foreground with Kilroot power station at Carrickfergus across the water
One of my first views of Northern Ireland as we came in to land. I spent two nights is Belfast, walking around the city and doing a coach trip up the eastern coast.
The cloud bank in the background swept in and for most of the time there it was gloomy and wet - no wonder it is so green there! The land mass top right is Scotland - so close.
The next fragment of my trip. Thanks for all the comments!

Stunning image. Great work.
Wonderful wide ranging photo. Farmland below looks like a quiet patchwork quilt. Well done Clive.
What a terrific view! I've been sitting here looking at a map and at your photograph, back and forth. Did you know there are ferries that leave Belfast and run to Scotland, the Isle of Man, and Liverpool? The distances are quite different from our ferry runs here ... it's mind boggling! Fascinating photograph, my friend.
Excellent view, nice capture.
Stunning capture Clive. God Bless.
Beautiful view - well captured.
