Here you see the screw and rudder of the SS Great Britain. The public are able to come down here below the water line and walk right around the hull. There is still a lot of restoration going on down here and as you can see the propeller is a lot different than those you see today.

What a giant leap forward...replacing paddle wheels with propellers. This view gives me another whole new perspective on this great old ship. And to think this screw/propeller was designed before the vast majority of people really knew what propellers were.

yes the screws are differ made but the degrees each of the blade are is the same as to day. so i read in a book at one time.
