Description
On my way back to Bristol I was greeted by this view across the Severn River from Wales.
Thoughts of tornado, aliens, etc. passed through my mind for a while. On getting closer to the source I noticed that there was a power station below the cloud. As to why it would have this effect on the cloud I have no idea. There was no visible steam from cooling towers. Any thoughts?

Very well seen and a great capture Clive.
No idea what this can be Clive. Stunning capture though. God Bless.
excellent
Maybe it was a discharge from the tower that finished but was stuck in the area due to wind conditions? Makes a great shot...
Just another sign of man polluting the atmosphere mate.. Nothing we can do, no-one cares enough.. But it sure makes a great picture!! Thats for sure! Rob
Wow, really amazing capture!
Ouch! I would have freaked! So well seen and captured Clive!
Extraordinary and fascinating!
There was steam coming out of the towers. The steam rose and interacted with the colder air above ... like hitting a ceiling. Then they turned off the steam, so there's no "tail" going all the way to the ground. LOVE the light. Great image!
Awesome I would of looked forever LOL and wondered Hugs Susan~
An UFO from "Battle of Los Angeles" !!!!!
I think there are many particles in the air and this will cause the clouds maybe...great shot.
