Description
This boat is quite amazing yet appears nothing to look at. It was built in 1890 and named Baron Jersey. It sits on the quay side at St Aubin's Harbour in Jersey in the Channel Islands with photographers taking shots at its peeling paintwork.
I went on a landscape photography workshop today and learnt about aperture, ISO, composition and so on. It was only for few hours but I do hope to learn more and already know how to take my camera off the automatic mode!
Thank you for your continued support and comments

Fascinating! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Susan..I forgot til it was too late..watch this space tomorrow!
Thanks so much Andrea, my birthday treat was the photography workshop :)
Happy Birthday Susan. Workshops can be great fun and it sounds like you've already learned alot. I try to keep my camera off automatic all the time (maybe a photographer's ego thing)...but if I am in a big hurry to get a quick shot of something where the light is low, I don't feel bad about an ocassional return to auto...it is smarter then me when in a hurry:) Oh, and I like your interesting 121 year old boat...it actually looks to be in rather good condition for its age.
IT LOOKS IT NEEDS A COAT OF PAINT! GREAT CAPTURE
fantastic "texture"" and great capture
It displays the finest aspects of carvel planking, and has already lasted 121 years...tough to beat that! It also look quite seaworthy, ready to cast aside the sea and make good her course.
fantastic capture, dear Susan! Congratulations on your photography workshop and many birthday wishes even if a day late! :)
Beautiful composition. excellent work
Just a little face lift and it should be ready to float. Nice shot and Happy Birthday. Aloha
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN. xx The pic shows a lot in zoom over 100 years old, wow!!!
Better days but very nice textures
Fine capture! This boat really has it's own personality! :o)
I'll bet the other side is in pristine condition LOL, excellent shot, great job
You must have learnt so much more now with your camera, can't wait to see some more photos from you Susan. Wow imagine what life was like when this boat was built, it is amazing isn't it! hugs Jane xx
It looks like this boat has covered some distance in its days on the sea.I hope that you enjoy your class and learn many tricks.
