Description
or, for the English speaking among us Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15, a jet fighter developed for the USSR by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all straight-winged enemy fighters in daylight. The MiG-15 also served as the starting point for development of the more advanced MiG-17 which was still an effective threat to supersonic American fighters over North Vietnam in the 1960s. The MiG-15 is believed to have been the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made, with over 12,000 built. Licensed foreign production perhaps raised the total to over 18,000.The MiG-15 is often mentioned along with the North American F-86 Sabre in lists of the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War and in comparison with fighters of other eras. Well that's about it for that one, maybe a Russian 'metal' texture and a couple of cammo's, then I'll break this up to Poser and get it uploaded hopefully early next week (I'll let you know when).
Some may have noticed this was rendered in Bryce, I like the results but longer render times and all the set up & importing usually puts me off. However I may try a few more with some of my earlier creations, before I get into something new.
Hope you like this, thanks for input and comments....now, where did I park that Thunderbolt?....

Hey, hey, hey...I really like the results in Bryce...nice and bright. And love those tall wing fences. A fave for me.
"Soon, soon," he softly croons to himself, lips drooling in anticipation. Nice work, Neil.
Mind blowing Neil...all those hours in the basement...no wonder! You certainly do beautiful work. I'm not even going to say anything about your dedication...I think you're in the running for "legendary" status. Thumbs up! all ten of 'em.
Red 325 is in a world of hurt! Nice job on this one (and others)
Oh, my! Dividable airplane so one can see its anatomy as well as the cockpit! Great job! Great work with the paint on the lower image - seems just the right degree of air resistance damage to it. Despite all your earlier work, I'm still amazed at how well your models are made, and how quickly you get them done, both mesh and texture-wise. Excellent work again! And, all I can assume is the Wiki is correct in its assessment of the planes you mention.
This is awesome. Love your work
"Powered by Rolls-Royce" Very nice!
Lonely pics, layouts amd texture.
Oh my goodness! I hope you do return to some of your 'old' models and revamp them to this EPIC detail and playability! Fantastic Neil.. A Fave!!!! AND.....Your Lanc Render is ready to go up tomorrow... Watch out.. I hope you like.. I still can't recall seeing another one on Rendo? Shame, bet me about the head with a wet kipper if I'm wrong on that lol Rob
A delight to look at Bryce renders; but they can take forever- as I think I found with one scene that took eight hours for my poor machine to render! Excellent render and fascinating to hear just the stats on this legendary fighter jet, a true work of love.
stunning model
Fantastic modeling! Corrie
Beautiful!
Gee Neil, where have I been..not watching this...this looks fab and I'm sure that we are already drooling over another terrific modeling job. Glad to see there are people out there who appreciate the effort behind such works.
Another great model, looking really good.
This is amazing. I've never seen anyone make a model that splits like this to reveal the engine before. Truly remarkable neil!
Neiwil, you change rendere package in your old days? Very fine model and image. I like the dismantled MiG on work behind. ;-)
Excellent job on a wonderful old bird. I look forward to it.
Fantastic model and render... its ALL engine! Glad they left room for the pilot!
Great job modeling and rendering.
Outstanding work my friend.
