Description
The Prickly Cycad is a very slow growing plant. They are found in South America, Africa, India, Southeast Asia and parts of Australia. This plant was in Naples, Florida and about 8 feet (2.4 meters) high. The family is botanically interesting for having survived basically unchanged for 170-180 million years. They can grow as tall as 20 feet (6 meters). They have razor sharp thorns all over the fronds. Take a closer look with zoom.

This for sure looks like it would hurt worse. Nice natural pattern !
This is Beautiful! I love photos of nature where there are strong and regular patterns. Lovely lines, detail and light. I like the way the leaves curl over and the outer leaf is darker than the inner. Excellent capture and interesting information!
