Description

I've always been fascinated by the ME-262. Very cool, sleek, and surprising aerodynamic shape...to say nothing of the shock that it engendered when introduced into combat. I could imagine the psychological and physical devastation they wreaked as they plowed through a formation of Allied bombers. I have a hard time imagining what it must be like fighting, flying, and keeping a grip on your spacial surrounding and your foe and friends alike. I'm sure that seat of the pants and intuition ruled the situation as much as flying expertise. Me-262: Bazze's oldie and still mighty goodie B-17: De Espona, I think. Very dynamic Bill, scary times indeed.....seat of the pants and a change of pants at times I'm sure.Strange to think the 262 was originally supposed to use the 109 fusilage, wouldn't have been the same 'flying shark' then....must admit the P-51 doesn't look bad amongst such exhaulted company....though ultimately, I'm just happy to see you blowing holes in someone elses models :-) I'm hopeing to find time to do a little on that story we spoke of, the model is started but early days yet...will keep you posted..

Thanks guys. Yeah, Neil...that P-51D is a pretty sexy babe, even in company with the "Shark"...and better not speak too soon about what I shoot up...you never know...you know? I'm glad that the German engineers thought better of using the 109 hull, I shrivel at the thought of the alternative. Bazze...he's still the original king. He's been an incredible inspiration to us all. But, that being said...there a quite a few good modelers out there who keep getting better and better all the time...Neil of course being one. Go, Neil! Just like the skies in combat, it's a crowded arena, but we all strive to do our best.
