Great scenic image Hugs Susan~
What a perfect image showing the amazing power of water. I had read about Lake Missoula and the Scablands but never seen an example of the event. Thanks for the link.
wowwwww
Ah, I remember us talking about this one! :-D Still a spectacular photo, Tara! And an amazing thing to think about all that water roaring over that drop.. It must have literally shaken the ground!
WOW sure smiles warm hugs, Linda Kaye
Well I went straight to the link and GOSH! what an amazing read that is! Your photo is wonderful and the explanation enhances it. I did Geography 'A'level a couple of years before they explained this. We didn't even have colour photos in our text books.
What a spectacular and interesting Landscape. And so HUGE. I cant even imagine the watermasses there once was pouring down from the edge. AMAZING.
A sculpture of nature, lovely shot Tara.
Nice panoramic view of highly impressive scenery indeed.
Went to the link straight away.... AMAZING! And its now all gone.. Quite staggering really, but leaves a fascinating rock formation to photo.. lol Great panoramic shot Tara! Well done.. Rob
What a beautiful place. Great picture.
Excellent! I remember going camping there at Sun Lakes State Park when there actually WAS a waterfall, before it dried up!
Beautiful view! Excellent capture! :)
A super capture of this interesting place. It would have been a very impressive sight when the falls were running. As you appear to be very high up to take this photo it seems like it must be a huge basin. Amazing.
I'm sorry to be late in commenting but I've been ill. I love this shot. I've been there and was just so impressed by the geology of this area.
Quite a story with this foto--what an interesting place!!
This is one of those shots that happens to be absolutely incredible all by itself, and as I look at it again at Corey's place, I get the feeling that I'm seeing it from the 14th floor. Hmmmm...I wonder why that would be? Oh, yeah, I remember now. I was on the 14th floor seeing this on your monitor screen, and having a fantastic time. I hear New York accents in the background and automotive talk! What a weekend! What a shot! This is most definitely a favorite!
Great capture Tara. I trusted you and klicked. Interesting geological past. I wonder how many geologist researched this and in the process wrote their thesis or dissertation and got their Masters and/or PhDs.
