Description
This is the original see-thru gas pump that was installed at the Pope Estate in South Shore, Lake Tahoe, CA. We thought it had been restored, until we looked at the hose closely, and it was not in useable condition. It is in great shape for an oldie.

I think we had see-through ones in odd spots out in the country, but that may be a false memory from a National Geographic mag!
They used these into the 1950s in some places here.

I seen one on that show where they do restore and then sell it. they got around 3 of 4 thousand dollars for it. this is good looking
I remember these! Outstanding capture. You had to hand pump the amount of gas that you wanted to buy, up into the glass container at the top, pay for the gas pumped up there and then gravity brought the gas down the hose into the car's gas tank. Dana
