Description
Taken on my hobby farm, of course. These girls are the happiest ever, snoozing in the shade of the Lilac bush. The eggs from hens like these ladies are various shades of tan and brown. Free range and healthy chicks!
You are looking at:
2 - Plymouth Barred Rock hens
1 - Golden Laced Wyandotte (middle)
Thanks for the view. Appreciate your time more than you know.
HONORED TO HAVE THIS SELECTED FOR LWitG!!

Looks like they are arranging a hen night!!! Super shot and info.
Reminds me of my grandparents They had all kinds of hens and roosters These are neat... TY for the memory as well Hugs Susan~
WOW...How lovely and funny! They seem to have a lot to gossip about!
Stunning capture Jodie. God Bless.
Lucky chickens....real beauties too.
Stellar feather patterns in this shot of the self satisfied biddies, in the midst of a gab session, Jodie! Probably gossiping about another hen. At least you know the names of the varieties of hens presented here.
Oh this is a wonderful scene, just like they are having their daily gossip, excellent photo, hugs Jane xx
Definitely a hen party going on!
Super capture!
I've got a New Hampshire red, a Silver Lace Wyndotte and an Americauna. The later two are still chicks - under 3 months. The NH red is 6 months and just gorgeous. I can't wait for the first egg to arrive around here. :-) this is really a beautiful shot of the three of them.
Hehe... definitely made me smile today! The title is so cute, and fits right in with this ever so sweet image of these cluckers. Great colours... what a beautiful arrangement of the brown one in the middle! :) Such lovely markings, too... A great view, my Friend!
like it so very much!
lovely shot
for big-city dwellers, these birds are strange & exotic...we see them in pictures & know they give us eggs, but they're strangers to our daily walks. But with your characteristic embracing eye, warmth & clarity, you make them wholly familiar, plush & beautiful. Also the spindly backdrop is perfect contrast to their bulk; and the softness makes them seem ultra domestic & warm. I like how they're looking off as if someone called them to ask what happened to the scissors...Deserving of LWitG as is a lot your gallery. Wonderful shot & hope all's well...
what a great shot this is!!!
Funny creatures - they all have the same stupid expression - excellent snapshot
