Description
Pandion haliaetus. Found at Patagonia Lake, southern Arizona, USA. Hand held, hand focused.
Ospreys dive from the sky to catch fish. I saw this one do a steep dive, and he came up out of the water with a fairly good sized fish. I have a picture of him flying off with his meal, which I will share sometime. The picture, not the fish. He kept the fish. :)

Beautiful capture!
That's a nice angle to show the underwing colors! They are good fishers, but they don't always win. I have seen the fish win at least once. If the fish gets a good tail thrust in, they can drag the bird under and the Osprey cannot release its talons when the leg is stretched straight out. They probaby both die.
Great close up- thanks for sharing! :)
