Description
This is the Four Bronze Horses of Helios by Rudy Weller in 1992. It is on Haymarket near Piccadilly Circus. Photo taken from one of those red, double decker, tourist busses that was moving, in the rain. I have to admit that when I went out walking, I could not find it again. Haymarket is a street in the St. James's district of the City of Westminster, London and runs into Piccadilly Circus. The circus is a central street rotary, close to major shopping, theaters and entertainment areas in the West End. The neon signs alone are worth a night time visit. Helios was the Greek God of the Sun (Sol in Roman mythology) who drove the chariot of the sun across the sky each day drawn by fire darting steeds named: Pyrois, Aeos, Aethon, and Phlegon thus the Horses of Helios.
