Description
Hippo grazing alongside the Chobe river in Botswana, for Filicity
My friend Hippo, in principal a very dangerous animal, is enjoying looking for food alongside the Chobe river in Botswana. We have been told that it is rather rare that he / she is looking for food outside the water during day time!!
Photo taken from a little “safari” boat. (Hippo’s are a lot more dangerous as crocodiles, they are responsible for quite a few killings!!). We were at about 15 meter distance from this animal and even closer to the croc from my yesterdays posting)
The Chobe National Park is in the north of Botswana, and famous for its elephants, but in the river (also onshore) you find a lot of crocodiles and hippo’s!!!
We made in May 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) .
Thanks for viewing, and your lovely and funny words on my yesterdays posting, a special thanks for those who earmarked the image as favorite; comments are always welcome.
Have a very nice day,
Henk
