Description
Smith Rock is a state park just north of Bend, Oregon. When I first visited there, I thought it looked like someone had taken a landscape from the desert southwest & plopped it down where it didn't really belong.
Smith Rock is a very popular spot for rock climbers (I have a shot of one that I'll post tomorrow) & has also been used as a setting for several movies, among them Rooster Cogburn, The Postman, Swordfish & Even Cowgirls Get the Blues...

That's such a great spot. The day I was there it was in the 90s, and I'd like to be there when it was about 70 so I'd be more motivated to hike down to the river ... it's so beautiful down there! (I didn't know Bill wanted to go to Smith Rock ... guess it's on our list, then! LOL!)
