stunning shot
Amazing that she is still on the go!
Super shot super plane and those throaty engine noises are just wonderful Bill.
Excellent capture, Bill; I think you need a wider angle lens to get all of the wingspan in!
Fabulous shot my friend!!Bravissimo!:DDD.Hugsxx Whylma
bonne photo!!
Fantastic! Just ...PERFECT! Wonderful....Oh my word! You completely lucky ....thing! lol Fave! Rob
Superb capture!!!
Great photo of this classic WW2 bird, Bill! I must go check out the links! Great post, my friend!
Its back looks safe and sound all right, but its front is a completely different matter! I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end! Thanks for the links - the fly by shows what a fast bugger this plane was. No wonder the air war over Europe was so fierce and bomber losses so great! Now, how do I get to fly and own an Me109? That would be cool. Or, a P51 Mustang? Also cool. One great thing I appreciate here is seeing the paint job clearly in sunlight (no fluorescent lights or bulbs). I wonder how this scheme made it harder to see the plane. Good photo. Keep it up! :-)
Beautiful plane and nice colors :)
great image! :)
Neat shot - I was SUPPOSED to be there ... I had a room reserved at the south end of the airport ... oh, well. Great shot. Notice how the angle of the forward edge of the canopy is narrower than the angle of the aft edge of the windscreen, the canopy rails (and fuselage, for that matter) taper back to the tail causing the canopy base to pinch together while opening. The short "frame" over the pilot's head on top of the canopy is actually a hinge. There is some dispute over the accuracy of the colors (I'm in the camp that they got it slightly wrong) but it's a darn cool plane none the less. And it's not simply flying on AN original BMW, but THE original BMW (that just blows my mind, MAN - lol). PS That's pilot Steve Hinton in the green flight suit.
it was a super piece of engineering to start with.....good that its still flying excellent shot

Well!! you know! just so damn cool, and thanks for the great links.. In answer to Tara's comment..They're all stood there saying "yeh! this is were Tara would stand, and shoot a real close up of the exhaust manifold and no-one would know what the hell it was" :-) Brilliant post Bill, Instafave of course....
