Description
Hi friends!
This is a photo from a couple of month ago.
I guess May.
On an evening walk I spotted this little butterfly.
In this picture he looks more brown. But in reality he is more black and white
The wingspan is about 3 to 4 cm. Here he is on the cow parsley (I think).
Thank you very much for visit, and for your support.
It's highly appreciated ;)
p.s. of course more details by zoom.

precious!
Oh how pretty!!
Gorgeous little creature
Most probably a nocturne butterfly (there are so many species, much more than diurnes...) Excellent shot ! :~)
What a beautiful picture this is, Mies! Wonderful shot! I don't think I've ever seen a butterfly with markings quite like these. Very pretty! Regarding your comments on my gallery post, Yes! Genhout is the windmill I was thinking of! Looking for it on Google Maps, I also discovered that "Street View" is now available for Nederland. So I put in our old Spaubeek address (Looiwinkelstraat 31A, Spaubeek, Nederland) and - sure enough! - there was a "street view" photo of the place we used to live. It doesn't look fundamentally different now than when we lived there, except that our entire front yard was a tuin, and now it is completely - but decoratively - filled in except for one small tree. (Wonderful memories for us, living there.) I hope you're having a good week. Blessings. Robert
This is an excellent capture Mies but this one is not in my book! It looks like a skipper but it's a new one to me - I bet Andrea will know!

The only one I can find anything like this is the Grizzled Skipper,Pyrgus malvae who have a econd generation in August that can be almost black-based. But is is also like a moth, the Latticed Heath, Chiasmia clathrata. It probably isn't EITHER! HAH! Ask Ursula!
Nice macro!
geen idee, maar ik kan het voor je navragen op het waarnemingen.nl-forum als je wilt ( laat even weten dan ?) ik heb deze nog nooit gezien
