I think the one on the top is saying, "I think we should make the hole right here", while his mate says, "Well hurry up, I'm ready to lay the eggs NOW!" Of course if they are both male or both female, than one is saying, "Didn't insects taste better when we were young?" Lovely shot! Wonderful that you caught two woodpeckers. I like the framing by the leaves in the foreground.
The one on the left is probably saying, "Did you get any worms today? " Then the other one responded, "They are not on sale anymore."
