Description
Ok, it's not night and he's not dancin, well, guess in some ways he IS dancin. Surfing is a kind of dance and if you don't know the steps, you can get tripped up pretty fast. This is actually the movement surfers make when they're changing directions on the wave, I'm sure there's a term for it (bet you'll know, Andrew!! lol).

Excellent shot.
Brilliant pic! So glad your bikes weren't stolen!
Awesome! I watched some surfers on my recent beach holiday but did not have a cool pier to stand on and take pics! I made sure I enjoyed the "scene" though!!!
stunning action picture! RS
Very cool action shot.
Superb action shot, very well captured.
Go Dude... Nice capture its probably called keeping his balance lol..
Great action shot! You're the surf-shot maeven, my friend. VERY nice!
cool action shot
I was so glad to see Kelly did well. I love it when the old guys have a win!!!!!!!!
A regular footer cranking a backside turn. Notice he is looking up at the crest of the wave "reading" it to predict its shape and what his best position and maneuver will be.
Very good capture
He looks like he's on stage! Great capture!
I would have wiped out a long time ago...lol. Aloha
Your specialty...and it shows! Nice job Marilyn.
WOW! This is one of those really amazing shots I like so much! You're right, in a way, surfing and dancing have a lot in common...nah, they're not the same thing, but they have all of that fun stuff like footwork and directional changes, and it always looks so impressive when somebody does it right! This is such a cool shot, and yeah, I agree...this is a Marilyn Speacialty shot. Your'e so good at these!
What I know is that I couldn't do that move!
Great summer shot, love the long crop- thanks for sharing! :)

I think that this is a super action shot Marilyn and you might see on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Oh Yes! Dana
Fantastic capture! (Are YOU surfing? It looks like you're right down there in the water!)
since I have to stop here for now, I couldn't leave your gallery without doing a surf shot. (And btw, how come you mention Andrew as the guy who knows the surf terms, but not me? HA! You think some pale, short city guy who can barely stand up after photographing geese wouldn't know the latest surf-lingo??? I surfed Lake Michigan, lady! I stood on a piece of cardboard, I rode a 3 inch wave---ok, not funny. I'll move on...) (Why do I do these bad bits in your gallery? You could have me removed for this ya know...) Ok, I don't know anything about this surfer's move, but you obviously caught it in its very midst, because the gesture is very articulate---the posture seems very much a learned technique rather than a spontaneous 'accident'. You got it right at the right point. Also you've composed the shot with a big "V" of foam, w/ the smoother water in front; and the surfer's off to one side, as if he's either creating that foam or the beneficiary of it. Like all your surf shots, it's filled with action, but seems to stop time as well; in fact the greatest action is the wave, not the surfer. Another fine surf-capture from you; and like Andrew said, with a more powerful camera you'd get even more detail & stop-action beauty. As it is, it's beautiful, Marilyn. When I see your action shots, I think, "where did the 'sports photographer' came from, inside of you???" You sure have the eye for it, that's for sure.
