Description
In May, I photographed the caterpillars on the Euonymus.
At the moment, a lot of butterflies from these caterpillars(the Ermine moth) are flying around.
Here two shots, where the moth is on the Solidago.
I have a few more shots of this butterfly, which is very small.
From Wikepedia :
The family Yponomeutidae are known as the ermine moths, with several hundred species, most of them in the tropics. The larvae tend to form communal webs, and some are minor pests in agriculture, forestry, and horticulture. Some of the adults are very attractive. Adult moths are minor pollinators.
In Dutch: Stippelmot.

Wonderful collage Mies, you really captured all the fine details
Very cool captures and presentation, Mies Thanks
stunning capture dear!
Excellent and very interesting shots and collage. Fantastic details!
Yikes - this gives me the creeps.... Wonderful capture though! I love the Dutch name - Stippelmot - It is so discriptive! Dotted moth!
Very cool capture Mies. A group this big could be bad news for the tree they are feeding on. They can leave it stripped bare of leaves
Excellent capture!!!
Very interesting shots. Well done
This is a great capture Mies and the info too.
Very interesting image! Great capture! :)
AARGGH! This takes me back to when I was 5 and I had to walk to school past several Euonymus hedges all infested with these. Although I have always loved all creatures, something about these communes freaked me out and I used to cross the road to avoid going too close. Your superb shot brought all that back over 60+ years!!
richtig tolle collage !! beautiful captured on the yellow flowers too !! :)
zo.. zijn ze met een tweede leg bezig, of had je deze foto al een poosje? mooi duidelijke opname, zeker door die inzetjes
beautiful shot of one of the beauties of nature ... a family of caterpillars, certainly monitored by their mothers consuming fleshy leaves of food plants! magnfique shot!

Superb done very beautiful insects
Een beetje eng begin, maar je laat goed zien hoe het is, en hoe mooi het ëindigd.
OUTSTANDING!
This is a great capture Mies and wonderful inserts of the moths. We have something similar in the US and we call them 'tent caterpillars' because of the size and shape of their webs. Dana
Cool image!!
