Description

A female Elasmucha grisea on Alder. On the dog walk today. What a find for me! I have never seen this before, and it was pure chance I noticed it as they are quite small. When I called my friend to see it I couldn't find the same leaf again. Not as sharp as I'd like but I'm still thrilled to have seen it.

Dedication to offspring from bugs? I knew about earwigs looking after their young but thought it was unique among insects. What a chance find and so interesting to see for us.
