Description
Americans are, unfortunately, often thought to be "gun nuts" by other Nationals. Too many are--as far as I'm concerned--but many Americans are also "car nuts"--especially about antique cars. The Ford Model A is one of those classic cars that a lot of folks like to get their hands on. The sedans and coupes are great, but my dream antique car (which I'll never have! sigh!) is a 1930 Ford Model A pickup.
Here we have a guy messing with his old pickup. His wife wishes he'd spend less money on that project and pay more attention to her and the kids. Not gonna happen! He's living his dream and you'll not pry him away from it. Grin.
___________
This picture inspired by Serrge's Pickup Truck 1930, which is very reasonably priced and very detailed. (Even the dashboard gauges can be adjusted!!!) I've been looking for just such a model for almost nine years now, so very excited to get it.

As many of you regular visitors to my gallery have probably realized, I've been off the Internet for almost a month. Computer problems, which left be $300 poorer. Sigh again. Anyway, thanks for stopping by. Keep coming back. Your visits, comments, and encouragements are always appreciated.
Jeremy

Well, we're glad to see you back with us. Great render
Was wondering what had happened to you...glad you're back! Nicely composed, the ol' pickup looks like it should be running soon ;)
Nice work Jeremy! the "old Men" are back!
Welcome back! I'm sorry to know for $300 flied away due to the computer... but now I hope that everything is OK! Great composition! :)
Excellent work Jeremy!
Well, thats the great thing about 3d rendering as the next best hobby. You can have a whole field's worth of collectable vehicles modern and antique with the only limitation being your computer operational and available remaining free hd space... Like all things, guess the wife still could have something to complain about- like the guy's wife in the render - spending too much time and money on his dream, and you - too much time, money and attention on your render projects. Interesting parralel isn't it? Glad to hear your alright and the computer repairable (yeah, those can be pricey, more-so if you have to pay someone else to do the mechanics work for you). for $300, you'd think that if you added another $400 to it, would've bought you a newer system altogether and you'd only needed hooked up the existing hd into it... Been busy myself, little to no time for rendering either. I love the render though. Its a wonderfully composed scene - an old metal garage, old truck being restored, a house in the background, and for the little extra touches, couple rain barrels and a cat sitting within one :)
Wonderful image
Some very cool textures used here
Nice! I'm particularly taken with the texture on that shed, and the wonderful grit and rust on the truck model. Looks wonderful!
