Males born in drow society can fill a number of roles, but even those of noble birth will always be second class citizens to the stronger and often more intelligent females. Every females destiny is to be a high priestess in service of the Spider Queen. If she is ambitious enough, she may even one day be a Matron Mother of one of the ruling houses. Unlike most females, Shandara respected and cared for her father and in return he taught her the use of weapons otherwise forbidden to clerics. Shandara has a fascination with edged weapons, more devout than most of the males. But little love for the Spider Queen, or the savage ways of the drow. Secretly her father taught her the finer points of swordplay for three years, before his untimely death. With her parents dead, Shandara fled to the surface with her twin sister Mara to start a new life, in a new world. Having never attended the acadamy she is not officialy a weapons master. In truth, few gratuates could hold their own against her for long. With blinding speed and cat like reflexes, the scimitars are an extension of her will. Shandara is truly, "At One With the Steel". Inner glow and neon glow, effects I often use in renders of light sabres, were used to simulate infravision.
