Description
I prefer the other name of Bay winged hawk than the usual Harris Hawk as Harris was a farmer and Amateur ornithologist who sponsored Audubon heavily who was famous for his superbly illustrated "Birds of America" .. Harris shot more birds with a gun than Audubon illustrated in his book!
Full size recommended to get the full beauty of this raptor..
Thanks for taking time to view and any comments etc always appreciated..

it's funny you say that about the name, because what struck me most seeing the full sized version was the rich color of the wings. they reminded me immediately of the rich color of a bay horse. as always, brilliant photography!
WOW! What a beautiful creature and a wonderful shot!
Stunning shot, so clear, so sharp...the bird's eyes are amazing. A fav for me.
One of your best, and that's saying something given the scope of your photography.
