Description
Arriving in Celuk, pronounced Chelook, I found it to be just another non-descript village. Except for the showrooms and a few restaurants the buildings were made of weathered wood, shacks really. But inside those buildings were factories humming with activity. Where the woodworkers of Mas relied on simple tools the workers in Celuk had machines to help them. There was a machine that sized silver wire and one that cut the wire to desired lengths. Not exactly high tech. The silver and gold was then worked into intricate and delicate objects and given a final polish before being put up for sale.
