Description
For the last few years, this plant has grown at various locations in my back garden. This year, it has grown by my back gate in a join between bits of the concrete path.
It is called Mullein (pronounced 'mullion'), of the genus Verbascum, also known as velvet plants and is one of about 250 species of flowering plants in the figwort family characterised by their densely hairy leaves.
Technically, this is a weed but, as my garden is delightfully wild, it is right at home - plus it is a very nice plant to look at. :-)
