Well, a few of you were right on the mark! The silver handle (BTW, the title is a take-off on a song by the Beatles - "Maxwell Silver Hammer") is indeed part of an antique fire engine. This 80-year old beauty sits outside Union Station in Kansas City - just as Bill remembered :-D.
I don't know a lot of details about this engine, except it is apparently a British model - note the steering wheel on the right side. Any details on this lovely machine, Rob?
I am working the third shift now, which inhales copiously. But I still have a few hours in the afternoon to do a few things, and maybe even a render or two. So' I'll be working on page 7 of the Girls From TNA, along with a couple other projects.
I'm in the planning stages of writing a tutorial on blending renders with real life photos. I know both Jenny and Roxy have been anixiously awaiting this one! LOL! I'll keep you updated, and post it in the tutorials section once it's done.

My only view of Union Station was from the top of the WWI memorial, and fire trucks were not part of the experience! I'm happy to see this place (and this outstanding piece of machinery!) from a more traditional pov. Nicely done!
Looks like she's been a leakin' a little Rod. I'll bet the drip pan placer isn't very skilled at his/her job. This is a great piece of machinery...I know the Brits had the edge on most everybody else in developing early fire fighting equipment. But I had a couple of British cars in the 60s that leaked too;-)
