Description

A few miles south of Gold Beach, Oregon. Some selective sharpening & blurring in photoshop - too much?

My opinion, which is by no means worth much other than certain things catch my eye, is that the fore-rock is a bit too sharp on the edge to the point it almost looks like a layer over the beach scene. Conversely, I think I would have applied the blur more to the distant shore and point of land to give this more overall depth and a feeling of endless beauty. Having said that, I must also say that this is exceptional. I love the composition and POV. The scoops where water and sand meet are so perfect they complement the ruggedness of the jutting rocks.

Yeah I'm the same as PJ. I prefer a more natural clarity to a photo, but that's just my preference and by no means does it mean this is done badly or wrongly. I guess I just love to see the intricate details of nature.

I know just where you were standing! The day we were there the tide was on its way in, and this bit was quickly covered. Your postwork is great! You've given the scene a graphic/poster feel, which is quite nice. I love the composition and saturation. When it comes to postwork, YOU are the only one who can say if this is right or not. We can all give our opinions, but that's all they are ... artistic preference. Do what makes you happy! As long as you keep your horizons straight! :P This one is perfect. There are several of us here who get all twitchy at the sight of a crooked horizon, because it's so distracting and SO easy to fix!
