Description
New Huron is a planet nearly entirely covered with water that serves as the corporate headquarters for Orion Arm Industries, a commercial shipping conglomerate.
The planet is similar to Earth during the pre-Cambrian explosion hundreds of millions of years ago. Complex life is just starting to appear in abundance, particularly in the plentiful tidepools where the water level is only a few feet deep.
Most of New Huron is covered in shallow seas varying in depth from 5 feet to quarter mile. Land only covers about 2% of its surface. It is expected that the waters will recede, leaving a very earth-like world. But unless terraformed, that will not happen for another million years.
A number of factories have been built on the scattered islands and in some of the more shallow waters. New Huron is rich in fossil fuels, hydrocarbons and radioactive elements, and some believe that this isn't so much a birth of a world, but a rebirth following some cataclysm that wiped out almost all life sometime in the distant past. For those that suspect this is the case, the most popular theory is that the planet was hit by an ice comet, which would explain the abundance of water.

Fantastic work! Love both the art and the narrative. Excellent!
superb sci-fi.Love the ships, speaking of which, were are they from...no, i did not mean what planet !! but from , like as in where can i get them ?...seriously, another of your excellent works
Very nice image and the lighting is spot on! I just do not know about those small moons being so close to the planet. The size of those moons would have made them crash into the planet just because of the mass and not enough inertia being created to sustain an orbit around the planet. Cheers, David
Very cool
genial.
Great looking scene and backstory! I really like the planet and the starscape. (And as long as you moons are beyond the Roche limit[which would generally lie between 2 and 4 planetary radii, depending on densities], they ought to be fine)
The moon in the upper corner is actually on the far side of the planet and very far away. The closer moon near the center is very small, and spiraling outwards through the eons. Fun Fact: Our moon used to only be about 50,000 to 150,000 miles away and has slowly spun outward through millions of years. Moon's can exist inside the Roche limit. Jupiter's moon Metis is within the Roche limit and should have been ripped apart, but its tensile strength is higher than the gravitational forces acting on it.
wonderful
Nice, cool planet and description. Always tough do good planets and you do it well!
Wonderful!
Great outer space scene!
Nice render and back story.
Wonderful work...
A most excellent science-fiction--as opposed to "sci-fi"--scene!
