Description
Some of the waves that day at the Wedge (Newport Beach, Ca) were close to 18 footers. I think this was one of them.

Holy frak! This is absolutely amazing. It's--yep, I'll say it--awesome but then when you've got water that stands 18 feet tall, what other word is there? I love the darkness and the brilliant emerald, the sea-foam and the absolute wrath of Poseidon vibe this has. Yeah, this is a stunning-good shot!

Back in the 1960s or 1970s the county did some work on the sea bottom. I think there was some dredging. The oldtimers will tell you the Wedge was never the same after that. Well, it seems to have recovered nicely. Superb shot. Love the color of the water.
