Description
From Friday at the Wedge, Newport Beach, Ca. BIG stuff; a couple of 18 footers. Thursday was bigger, but I didn't make it that day. No matter, these were not for the faint of heart!!

I could be wrong, but I get the impression that these guys got a little bit wet. 18 footers...18 of anything (feet, wheels, etc.) are big and you're right, doing what these guys are doing isn't for the kind of person who shies away from adventure. I love the way you capture the sheer intensity of this; I also really love that greenish tinge where the wave is rising but hasn't yet gotten frothy, it's just swelling, rather like the promise of something really, really (really!) ominous. Or at least exciting. You've got so many really super action shots in your gallery and this ranks way up at the top of that list. This is really super!
