A reticulated Giraffe only 3 weeks old at the Miami Zoo.

Capital capture of the cute little guy with the cartoonlike eyes, Dana. Seems to be at complete ease with itself. And very rare to see one so young. All I ever find at the zoos are full grown adults. Love the patterns on the young creature.

Superb! I have catching up to do but I couldn't resist this shot, especially since I like giraffes (hmmm...I think I have too many favorite animals, I always lose track of them.) I remember my childhood thoughts that giraffes should be domesticated and used in much the same way that we use horses. I guess that's just because I wanted to be one of those cowboy types in some exotic, far away place who rode a giraffe at work while herding emus or something equally improbable. I also have to say I've never seen a giraffe not standing up and so this is a really distinct shot of a handsome and exceptionally young critter. Very nice!
