That's Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock in about the middle of the picture.
Only a couple more days and we'll be home!

Know the area well, though it has been a few years great capture
You are correct ...I've been there many times and have to always stop and take a picture from this spot. Your photo really captures the beauty of the area.
I can certainly see why..... I know I'd sure devote a few megapixels to this breathtaking view! Just amazing - superb capture, Tara! It's good to hit the road once in a while, but it's also good to get home! :-D

It really is abeautiful image. I had lunch at Cannon Beach years ago and my pictures are from there looking south. I may post them one day.
I was so glad to see this photograph. I moved from the area and really miss going to this area. It is so beautiful and your photo does it justice. Great pic.
I must go there now so that I can get this shot. And what a shot it is. I love the shape of that place. Chicago is built on such flat land that it's sometimes a bit shocking to see land that does something. Prague is in a valley, so the land there does some interesting and rather oddly vertical things. It's nice to see land (and sea) doing something other than being horizontal, and I love those upthrusts of rock. They look almost like dead volcano remnants. That's never a bad thing. This is really marvelous.
