Description
The same stone displayed at two different POVs, captured 10/18/09, around 12 noon, at the beautiful Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in beautiful San Marino, California.
Don't bother zooming in on this.
I captured this the same day I visited and took pictures of the Orchid Show located elsewhere on the Huntington grounds.
Now, this is a real Rock of Ages; a massive, naturally weathered stone used as a sculptured focal point in the beautiful Chinese Garden section of the Huntington grounds. These beauties are purchased from China, and cost big bucks/taels. Ironically, I immediately think of fossils and/or termites whenever I see them. I have several pics of the different varieties of this stone languishing in my files, which I will be posting every so often.
Ciao, thankx for looking in, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

This really is too cool Harry, thanks for sharing a pic of it with us
That is the craziest thing! I love the bizarre shapes here. Nice photo that really captures the contrasts very nicely. And, of course, I can't help but like any kind of sculpture that's made from natural rock and stood on end!
Ohhh cool the comment section is on..thanks Harry this one VERY MUCH so deserves comments! It ROCKS hahaha Sorry I had to say that..lol Awesome post my friend! :-)

Fantastic looking rock formation and super backgrounds. Dana
Super object and great shots.
Extrordinary!
Dude! Comments! I thought these were really cool looking chunks of rocks.. I am not one for 'modern' art, but these are really something! I like!!! And as you know, I faved.. Good one Harry, more like this? Rob
What a beautiful piece of rock! Wow, lots to see in all its little curliques and holes. Excellent shots to tantalize and tease!
Very impressive!
I love peculiar rocks and this certainly qualifies. The detail, color, and lighting is superb on both. The first is my favorite because of the wonderful framing of the rock by the bridge, willows, and reflections. Very cool shots!
