Description
This is from a museum in North Cyprus. The cabinets were full of these "Toys". They had amusing creatures riding horse like animals and playing musical instruments. There's a figure a few inches high of a mother breast feeding, maybe a "doll". These finds are dated 1000 - 500 years B.C. I found these facinating as a snapshot of life modelled nearly 3000 years ago!
Worth a detailed look.

I agree outstanding and thank you for the info !!
Wonderful and magical capture of the past!
I am fascinated Kevin. They are wonderful objects to have survived all this time. The dolls on the nearest horse look great fun, one playing a stringed instrument whilst two dance. I wonder if they were travelling entertainers or just a lovely toy for a chld. Wouldn't we love to know more. I like the hair of the driver! Thankyou for sharing:-)
Fabulous, a great capture, thanks for sharing and they say the Romans invented the wheel!!
Aren't they just wonderful!! It just shows that our forebears had as much fun as we do, even though life was probably much shorter and harder.
Wonderfully captured! Thanks for sharing and the background information.
Not something you see every day, these reminders that kids have always been kids! Great capture!
that is wild!
Someone went to a great deal of trouble to make these toys and it is amazing that they have lasted so long. An excellent capture.
