Description

Stones would play inside her head ... (Neil Diamond) Bakersfield behind us (yay!), this was Highway 58 on the way to Tehachapi Pass. The landscape there was so beautiful! I shot this out the window at 55 miles an hour, hand held zoom. A bit of postwork was in order! It was pretty good, but not sharp-sharp. Still, I wanted you to see some of the what we enjoyed yesterday.

I am a big Neil Diamond fan I could listen to his music over and over and over. Been to five of his concerts so I guess that makes me sort of a groupie haha. Great song and image to go with it, beautiful work. What do you have against Bakersfield ? just kidding been through there myself and I get it. Not sure where you're heading but you're in California so I am jealous my son is out there this week visiting my mom and I would love to be there right now. Enjoy.

Yes this looks already like a painting. Maybe you have ArtRage in your laptop???! Could be a good painting with that. :D Very beautiful.

Nigh onto an oil painting! Love that sky effect. And, how can you afford the gasoline during this trek?

You are really getting your drive-by shooting technique honed to a fine edge. What I see while driving is too many white lines, too many trucks, too many cars and not nearly enough rocks. :) Beautiful composition and postwork!

It's amazing, what you can find at a by drive-by shooting ;-) (oops, Bill stole my line - never mind) perfect postwork, very soft colour saturation and to top it all off, as if by magic Neil Diamond was just playing and singing a track from his 'Hot August Night' CD on my radio in the background, I think that is a real coincidence ... The San Joaquin Valley and the coastal foothills have a lot to recommend them. I'm glad you came to visit in the Spring. I think the hills are most beautiful then. Nice grab shot, especially with the green hills in the background.

Beautiful shot, and I love the painterly postwork on this! This landscape is very evocative of a chapter in LOTR describing a haunted landscape called the Barrow Downs. This fits Tolkien's description perfectly as I imagined it. Excellent, Tara!
