Description
A bit of anti-gun artwork in central Cape Town during the soccer world cup last year, standing about 3 feet high.
This replica Knotted Gun statue paint design was by South African captain Aaron Mokoena’s (who also plays for Portsmouth as a defender.)
The famous knotted gun is the anti-gun statue at the UN Headquarters and reflects the organization's anti-gun bias. The sculpture, donated by Luxembourg, was created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reutersward who designed it as a tribute to John Lennon and stands as a peace symbol for the world.
I learnt a lot researching these details,
Clive

What a wonderful piece of art and a great way to make a statement!!
I have seen this! Great piece of art and I agree with Marilyn - quite a statement! Sometimes I do feel like knotting someone's neck like this... straight face
And I agree with the two ladies, a great way to make a statement. Thanks for sharing.

My kind of gun! Beautiful sculpture and capture!
I never knew any of that, Clive! Wonderful.

GREAT art! a very interesting picture!!!!!
If there could have been no guns or weapons on earth it would have been nice but to no avail even in the Bible we read of weapons being used. What a statue and statement. I say Amen to this one.
Very beautiful art
