Description
In the stream running through Tokai forest. Sad reflections of a forest which once was.
Sad for me as this image tells a lot of the story: The felling alien pine trees in Tokai forest is to encourage the growth and survival of indigenous fynbos. We will be lucky if we are able to walk in-between the bushes in 20 years time - definitely no shady paths to hike, horse-ride or cycle along.
The other message from this image is that the pines consume too much water...
The dead tree in the pool water is symbolic of the current situation.

This is a very beautiful capture.
Excellent image Hugs Susan~
Wonderful capture full of meaning: sadness and hope
I love the shapes of the wood, the spikes and rounds and swirling textures, and the reflecction sets it off perfectly. Well done!
Very symbolic ineed, however, a very good capture with loads of emotion!
excellent
That looks like a poodle lying there Clive! Super shot.
A strange litle animal! Interesting about the pines...we are removing fir trees from heathland for similar ecological reasons.
Beautiful shot.. Sad though.. Trees take too much water? Not man? Interesting debate there... Once again, great shot sorry for the 'tree hugger' comment.. You are a great photographer.. Rob
Pines take too much water? My word. Everything is so relative, isn't it? In these parts, pine trees grow on the dry side of the mountains. The wet side is covered in fir. Aside from that (!!!) moment ... I love this image! Beautiful detail, and the greens and grays together are superb.
Nice find and a well done shot.
Great reflection and a nice little scene!
