Description
Back in November, I posted a foto of a small shrine someone had erected in the memory of a young man who had passed away. I don't know who he was, or what happened to him, but I was touched that his friends thought enough of him to let other people know.
I was back at that same spot shortly after the new year and saw there had been some additions. There were Christmas decorations, a teddy bear, though the chapstick was missing! It's a lovely ongoing story of someone who was loved a lot.

Yeah very touching. People put them next to roads and train lines over here, and then the 'powers that be' come and take them away because they were erected without valid permits.....
Must be very sadly missed but he must be allowed to go!
sad story, nicely taken.have a nice weekend
Very sad but at least he is missed, super capture!!

I see these all around and wonder at them too...beautiful capture!
Wonderful capture
It would be very interesting to know more.
nice but sad shot
Perhaps the sea took him. Well known surfer Sion Milosky died on Wednesday after an accident at Mavericks surf break, south of San Francisco. A sad image.
you know their hearts must be filled with such sorrow. nice capture my friend
Poignant.
wonderful shot.
How so special can warm the soul wonderful capture warm hugs, Linda
These are always incredibly touching and telling. There's really no way for me to know who this guy was, but the fact that the shrine remains is a firm indication that he mattered and matters to somebody! That's always a good thing. In a world where everything is instant and transitory, it's nice to see that emotional significance is something a bit more steady and stable. This is such a touching shot, delicately handled. It's very human and intriguing because of that!
Beautiful update on this shrine Marilyn. It is sad to see these along the highways. This one is nicely done with the photos. Dana
