Description
...this is a small glimpse within a rainforest in the Hoh River Valley on the Olympic Peninsula (Washington state).
...no matter what the weather or time of the day, there is a certain glow eminating from the green, wood rotting fungus covering almost everything in an area like this.
...Foxfire is the term for the bioluminescence created in the right conditions by a few species of fungi that decay wood. The luminescence is often attributed to members of the genus Armillaria, the Honey mushroom, though others are reported, and as many as 71 individual species have been identified. See short wiki here.
