Description
...my exclamation upon looking into the twin tailpipes of the only civilianized MiG-29 flying in the USA today.
...its' 1400 gallons of fuel is good for about a two hour flight or eight minutes on afterburner!!!
...this aircraft was purchased from the Ukrainian government in 2006 by a private foundation and has been in complete restoration at Arlington, Washington between 2008 and January 2011. It is now undergoing a five hour test flight program for its' airworthiness certificate and will become a permanent part of a yet unnamed flight collection in the near future.

Interest POV, but great shot!
Very impressive POV
Kick the tires, light the fires and gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Straight up!!!!
does it toast bread?
Yes - holy smoke is what comes out of those two openings. Wouldn't want to be in your location when those two light up! Very interesting and unusual shot, showing the insides. The purple suggests burnt metal. I remember reading about the sale of this plane - was a bit controversial. Keep up the good work! Would like to see more of this plane. :-)
Love the title made me chuckle, great capture!!!
Don't be standing there when they turn on! ;D You'll have a really bad hair day. ;D LOL! Excellent POV and capture!
Really awesome Bill.
Fabulous POV and colors. well done
GOSH!
Now this is another example of 'my kinda shot'! I remember Rob mentioning that it's a good sign to see the drip trays cos the thing in question is still in use. It's great to hear it's been completely restored. I've never seen one in real life. Oh and yes the roar of jet engines is amazing isn't it. I expected it when I was up close, but I couldn't believe it when the F-16 went to the moon 'miles' away from where I was standing and it still deafened me!!!!!!
Very impressive, Bill! That is one heck of a double-barrel! Clive
Awesome shot, Bill!
Wow, it's HUGE! Amazing shot!
Wow impressive POV Bill, I wouldn't want to pay the fuel bill...
cool pov
Wow, now they ARE impressive. An excellent capture of their power.
Great POV, DOF and lighting effects in this shot of what I thought at first were binoculars, and then a SR-71 Blackbird, Bill. Good thing they didn't turn on the afterburners while you were composing the image.
An F-16 pilots dream view, though perhaps not quite so close. You've really conveyed the size here, it does appear to be 2 engines and a cockpit, I just can't get over how thin the center section 'appears' to be.This ones a keeper...INSTAFAVE!!
DE TRES GROSSES TUYERES
This is one seriously afterburning POV on this beauty, Bill! Amazing capture! Not so long ago, you'd not see this sight - a MIG in an American hangar! Superb shot, my friend!
A impressive aircraft and capture, don't think I would car to ride it thou!
Cool shot!!
What a superb pov! It must be impossible to stand there and not feel the power of the thing, even when it's just sitting there! I can't believe I walked around the front of that plane and never once looked at the back. Guess we'll just have to go back! An excellent image.
C'mon baby light my fire!
I guess this could give alot of smoke and SPEED ! :-) Excellent shot.
I will go with holy smoke too!!! WOW... very impressive Bill! I think we did talk about this puppy when I visited.
WOW---I don't know what else to say--the POV just rocks!!
a super great image, as usual, my friend!!!
superlative POV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO!!
