Description
Tonight's a picture adventurous in the sense that, after leaving the place looking for subjects to photograph (without much luck), along the road to Massarosa, I see the corner of 'this beautiful hawk eye on the cables. I do not think twice, stopped the car and I lean out the window to take pictures, then I realize I have a row of cars in front and one behind (thank goodness have been very patient).

The marsh harrier is present in Europe and North America. It is located in the marshes and reeds, where he spent most of his time flying.
The populations most of northern and southern regions are migratory. Migration in Western Europe beginning in mid-August with the young birds born in the year, followed by adults in September-October. The males migrate later than females and young and arrive later in the over-wintering sites. The rate and extent of migration depends on the place of origin, because the birds originating in the northern parts sooner, move more and faster than the birds from southern Europe, cha, but instead can spend most of the period close to their winter mating area. Migrating south from Europe follows a well-defined, through Gibraltar and the Bosphorus, and rarely cross large bodies of water. During migration they can fly at such heights get over the mountain ranges, although they usually prefer to fly at low altitude. The northward migration begins in February and March and frequently cross the Mediterranean. Usually migrate alone or in small groups, not in large flocks, but when you pose the hawks are more gregarious than usual, forming groups of 300 individuals. The birds arrive in their breeding areas from late March onwards, no later than early May in the zone distribution area to the north. In Italy it is regular migratory and wintering locally sedentary.
Other species of falcon are: Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus, Falco della Regina Falco eleonora, Osprey Pandion haliaetus, Falco peregrinus Peregrine Falcon, Honey Buzzard Pernis apivorus, Red-footed Falcon Falco vespertinus.
