Thunderbolt was a tough character to create i wanted something between The Flash and Quicksilver but faster & more powerful. Thunderbolt can build a static charge within his body somewhere around 10 gigawatts, more than enough to kill with. He can't use it for any effect other than firing a bolt of electricity but he can control the damage/intensity. When I wrote this bio I wanted the character to be a bit more dark than other speedsters so i made him an ex-cop being fast would mean he would always be the first responder. Being first to a crime meant he could stop many crimes before they had a chance to escalate into something worse. However, it would also mean that in the case of gruesome scenes he would be the first to see some of the most horrific sights a man to could see. Being the first would also mean he would be alone at the scene. Psychologically that kind of thing could mess a person up. So I used that logic to set Thunderbolt up. He is a tragic hero who is very serious about what he does.
