Description
This past Sunday I went to the Johannesburg Country Club to watch two of my sons play cricket. There are beautiful gardens and I managed to get a lot of really beautiful flower shots. This is a dahlia being "attacked" by bugs. I have no idea what they are but they were everywhere and feature is almost all my images!
Thank you for popping in and for your lovely comments on my upload "Perched" of yesterday.
Stay well.
Hugs
Carin xx

Boy, they are very smart-looking, Carin! What a great pic!
You all have the most interesting bugs over there! These might be pesky but they sure are lovely to look at...great capture! I'd call them zebra beetles!
Nice shot - I like the colors and your composition a lot.
Love the color of that dahlia, the bugs add great contrast--hope they don't eat em all!!
wonderful close up! RS
Fab pic Carin.
WOW! WHat a capture. It is really beautiful. The bugs too.
Cool :) Look like some sort of beetle to me, but what do I know? Nothing about bugs! LOL
very nice beetles! WONDERFUL picture!!!!
All dressed up in their tuxedos...country club style:) Nice.
Very nice picture...Like the colors and composition.Well done
They are pretty bugs, lovely flower too. xx
I did a bit of a search Carin and it would seem to be one of the of the family Meloidae - Blister Beetles! Stay clear - they are brightly coloured for a reason! I like the compo of the snack-fest, Clive
Well, at least they are nicely photogenic so the Dahlia's might not like them but I do
Gorgeous dahlia, and the beetles are stunning! I'm with Denise and the zebra beetle thing. Excellent capture!
Great capture, beautiful image !
TERRIFIC SHOT AND STRANGE BUGS INDEED!
They look to be enjoying this dahlia and I wonder what kind of bug they are too. Excellent capture.
Just an amazing shot.
Wonderful capture, Carin!
Beautiful flower. The overall effect is superb. Here in the States people often gather in the parking lot of a stadium before a game to barbeque meats, drink beer and listen to loud music. These are known as 'tailgate parties' referring to the tailgates of pickup trucks used for holding and preparing food. It looks like these fellows are having a tailgate party of their own.
Outstanding capture Carin.
Excellent work!!!
Thanks Clive for the research! Thank goodness Kayla wasn't with me at the time I took these shots. She would want to "mother" them and could have ended up screaming!!!
Very nice closeup shot! I like it!
A very good find :)
BEAUTIFUL!
Nice photo!
What interesting critters. I've seen their cousins in Chicago. Different-sized spots are the only real distinction between these and the ones I saw (there's a photo of one in my gallery a few pages back.) I never really knew what they were, but like Kayla, I was interested in bringing a few of them home. I didn't, however. This is a super shot! I love the crisp clarity of it.
Excellent compo and 'nice' bugs!
