Description
Commonly refered to as "Little Friends" by bomber crews, the P-51d Mustang became a legend in the skies over Europe. Flying escort for the bomber formations, the Mustang had excellent high altitude performance and handling, and was more than a match for German aircraft of the day...
Here a pair of P-51's buzz through a formation of B-17's on their way to Berlin in 1944 (note the Invasion stripes on the wings and fuselage and unpainted aluminum airframes... with the decline of the Luftwaffe as a fighting unit the U.S. Army Airforces dropped the camoflage commonly used at the time...)

Excellent render with lots going on! I love the P51-D, especially after it was made great by the addition of that British engine .... what was that one again? Excellent CSchell!
lmao... ty... and yes... the Rolls-Royce Merlin took what started as a mediocre aircraft at best and turned it into a legend of military aviation along with the Spitfire and Mosquito ;)
This looks amazing. Love the way the camera is positioned, inside the cocpit. Great work.
Very good POV.
Great scene!
Cool from the cockpit view....an excellent aerial composition and more excellent models..
getting the ligting to match the backdrop in this one was a pain... lol... took me almost 4 hours of tinkering with lights to get it right...
